Hi there! My name's Rowan - she/they -  and in June 2018 I graduated with a BA undergraduate degree (first class honours) in Animation Production from the Arts University Bournemouth, having directed my graduate film about pirates. I've since worked as a designer on productions for Netflix ('Dead End: Paranormal Park' @ Blinkink), Nickelodeon ('It's Pony' @ Blue Zoo), the BBC ('JoJo & GranGran @ A Productions Ltd.) and Dreamworks (Unannounced @ Giant Animation)

Character & Colour Designer at Giant Animation, ‘Unannounced’

November 2022 - Present

​

I am currently working as a colour artist on a 3D Dreamworks show for Giant Animation.
 

Character & Prop Designer at Giant Animation, ‘Unannounced’

May - November 2022

​

I worked as a character and prop designer on a 3D Dreamworks children’s show for Giant Animation. During less busy periods I also character designed for Alex Sherwood’s show pitch, “Pooch Parlour”.

Character Designer at Pictor Productions, 'Flix'

March - May 2022

​

I worked as a character designer for season 1 of ‘Flix’, a 2D animated show created using Adobe Animate for Pictor Productions. I also worked secondarily as a prop and background designer when necessary to the production schedule.

Mid-Level Character Designer at Blinkink, 'Dead End: Paranormal Park'

November 2020 - October 2021

​

I was a mid-level character designer on seasons 1 & 2 of 'Deadendia' for Netflix - designing characters, creating turnarounds & redresses, and providing post-board design such as special poses and cut-outs (rigged in ToonBoom). Over the course of production, I progressed to supplying retake notes for the Rigging department on behalf of Character Design.

August - November 2020

I worked remotely as principle character designer on Season 2 of 'It's Pony', designing all new characters, existing character redresses and turnarounds (rigged in ToonBoom).

Designer at A Productions Ltd, 'JoJo & GranGran'

March 2019 - June 2020

​​

I supplied 2D props, layouts and character designs for season 1 of the BBC production ‘JoJo & GranGran' (rigged in ToonBoom). I worked in-studio during pre-production and continued doing so throughout production up until the COVID-19 lockdown, during which I worked remotely.

I created 2D character designs and layout concepts for a children’s TV show pitch by the BBC NHU.

Visual Development Artist at A Productions Ltd, ‘Bea’s Blocks’

September - December 2018

I worked full-time at A Productions Ltd in Bristol, remotely providing 2D digital layout concepts for a yet unannounced CG children's show.

​

Internship at Golden Oaks Studio, 'Harry & Gary'

March - May 2017

​​

I spent several months of my 2nd year of university in Nanjing, China interning at the Golden Oaks Studio as a visual development artist on a yet unannounced CG feature film. I completed my university-set assignments for that semester at the same time as working full-time at Golden Oaks.

I was employed as a cafe assistant at Blackwell House for 2 years; part-time in 2013 while completing a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at Kendal College, and then full-time in 2014.

I graduated from the Arts University Bournemouth in June 2018 having directed my graduate film 'The Legends of Jenny Haniver'.
